    Everything Etiquette

Business etiquette and communications can determine a lot about how people see and value you. It is critical for you to ensure that your professionalism and image encompass “Everything Etiquette.”

As we move at a faster pace, we often forget the basics of taking care of clients. The difference is to learn how to give good service from start to finish and discover little acts of kindness that will make you memorable and build your business. Great service is the key to keeping clients.

When you enter a reception room, do you automatically seek out someone you know? Nice for friendship, but disaster for new business. Learn how to mix with the right people, keep a conversation going without doing all the talking, and use business cards to your advantage.

One of the worst challenges is the fast-changing communication technology. It is critical to know the  proper etiquette for email, phones, and all electronic devices.

How do you manage all dining situations? Which fork do I use? Is that your bread plate or mine? Learn the basics and be comfortable in all situations from a picnic to the most formal dining settings. Table etiquette and hosting skills should be second nature to anyone who entertains clients or even takes their kids out to a pizza joint. Make an impression as host or guest.

With the changes in the past few years and our work situations, how has this altered our professional dress? Are you doing the best you can to give a good first impression? Learn to coordinate your apparel and be prepared for whatever setting you encounter – the office, a reception, a Zoom call, or a night on the town. Get sensible tips to fit your style, shape, and budget. What is the appropriate dress and how do you want to be recognized?

Colleen will provide her Ten Tips and Guidelines for “Everything Etiquette” to provide a fun and educational program for ARMA.

Speaker:  Colleen A. Rickenbacher, CMP, CSEP, CPC, CPECP

Colleen Rickenbacher is a speaker and author in the field of protocol, etiquette, civility, and communication skills.

Her four books and training cover practical business and dining skills, the proper etiquette and protocol. She has helped numerous up and coming authors through the entire process to complete remarkably successful books, while keeping them on a very structured and doable schedule.

She trains her clients to deal both internationally and domestically to prevent any faux pas relating to business operations, dining differences, dress, entertaining and social skills. Her book on people skills has also gone international.

Colleen has achieved numerous certifications and awards, but her highest achievement is the induction into the prestigious Events Industry Council Hall of Leaders. This award is considered the highest honor in all the hospitality industry.
